A perfect stay with beautiful surroundings
A lovely bed and breakfast tucked away on the tops of Rochdale with amazing views over all of Rochdale.We stayed in the stables and the rooms were very comfortable, well presented and it made for the perfect stay.Will definitely be staying here again on our next trip to Rochdale

Absolutely amazing
I couldn’t give enough praise if I tried. Fernhill B&B is not only so reasonably priced, but it exceeds expectations. The room was clean, cosy and perfect with a smart tv. The toilet and shower were also extremely clean and nice. We felt as if we were in a cosy home instead of staying out. The view was also immaculate and the host was extremely helpful, only a call away and was always available when I reached out to him. Will be visiting again!!

Have revisitedFernhill many times and it is always clean, cosy warmand very comfortable , lots of hot water too…appreciated aftera long journey! In the summer lovely to sit outside with the best views. Tried the breakfast for the first time recently. Plentyof choice and fresh products. It’sthe perfectspace for various combinations of our family to staywhilst visiting family nearby.Thank you !

Serene setting
I stayed at Fernhill B&B for 2 weeks and my stay was everything I needed and more.It was in a perfect setting in beautiful countryside, yet only 40 minutes walk from Rochdale. It was clean, warm and homely.Highly recommend this beautiful place.

Excellent stay as always
I stayed at Fern Hill due to a family bereavement and I stayed in Moor View in the main building. A beautifully appointed and spacious room and it was a peaceful place to reflect and gather my thoughts following the death of my Mother. I have stayed at Fern Hill many times usually in the Stables and I have never been disappointed. Thanks for having me Rob. See you again soon.

The best we have ever stayed in
This is a place tucked away in the countryside but it is fantastic and has amazing views. The rooms were spacious, beautifully decorated, comfortable.A kettle and tea and coffee supplied as well as some biscuits.The shower was the most powerful we have ever known!Would recommend to anyone looking to stay in the area.To top it all off it wasn't expensive.Thank you for a great stay

Lovely stay
I recently stayed at Fern Hill bed and breakfast as I needed to be near to stay near near to where my elderly mother was in carehome. I have stayed at Fern HillOn numerous occasions in the past, in the Stables. Unfortunately on this occasion a Stable room wasn't available, so I stayed in Redfern on the main building. As I was travelling on my own on this occasion this room,which is considerably smaller met my needs.It was well appointed and maintained and was very comfortable. It was a place of immense tranquility after an upsetting visit to my mum. Rob,the owner was very helpful and communicative as usual and I have already booked again for the following week. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend Fern Hill and will definitely stay there again. I don't take the self service breakfast option.Thank you .

Superb location
What a find! We throughly enjoyed our two-night stay. Just a few suggestions for improvements:- 1) the room was extremely hot, it seemed to make no difference when we turned thermostat down, 2) a shelf or stand in bathroom needed to put sponge bags on, 3) tumblers needed for water, and 4) FRESH COFFEE NEEDED - this could take the form of coffee bags in the room but would expect a minimum of fresh coffee grounds in the breakfast room with a cafetière, if not a coffee pod machine.

Great stay
My stay was very comfortable. The room was very well equipped, warm, and the bed comfortable. Access was easy, as was parking, although the lane is narrow and needs care in the dark. I paid extra for the buffet breakfast which was well worth it and had lots of choice (and a great view). I would definitely stay again.

Perfect for a comfortable stopover
I had a fantastic stay at Fern hill BnB. It's located on a working farm in the hills above Rochlade. Views are good and it's tranquil at night (unless a neighbouring guest has a conversation outside your window at 2:30am!) Checking in and out is easy — you just pick up and drop off your keys. My room was spick and span with a great bathroom and comfortable bed. Within a 40-minute suburban walk, you can reach pubs and restaurants in Bamford. I'd definitely stay again. For £73 a night, it's a bargain.

1st class in every way!
Perfect moorland location with superb facilities. I travelled with my border collie so the access to fantastic walks was ideal. Only stayed the one night as travelling for work purposes,but will definitely be back for a longer stay.Room was very spacious, welcoming & spotless with a huge comfy bed. Overall, a great place to stay - thoroughly recommended.

Short trip to visit family
Lovely peaceful location,yet close enough to Nirden village and the surrounding area. Room was very clean and comfortable.Breakfast was delicious with lots of choice. Would definitely stay again . Good value for money.

One night stay
Had a one night stay as we were attending a wedding in area. Check in easy keys left for us. Accomadation was so clean warm and welcoming. The views were amazing despite yhe rain. Had a lovely quiet sleep. Breakfast continental and help yourself, plenty of choice. No time to explore the surrounding area but finished stay with a walk around Hollingworth lake.

Our room was clean, warm, comfortable and welcoming.The en-suite is beautiful and the booking in system faultless.It's really the only choice you need if you want somewhere to stay in this area.We will certainly book again.Just like Mary Poppins "perfect in every way".

Great Place to Stay
The accommodations were great, very comfortable and clean.Loved that it was actually part of a stable that lead to trails. Would definitely stay there again. Had a question for the host and he was very responsive.

Accommodation (we stayed in the stables) was just the job, very big, comfortable bed, lovely big room, everything you need (apart from a full size mirror which made preparing for a party a little awkward). Location is excellent with lovely views and very peaceful surroundings. Good choice of food with the continental breakfast. We would definitely recommend staying at this B&B.

Great B&B
Stayed two nights in the Stable and found everything to be spot on.The main room and bathroom were very clean and well maintained, with the usual tea / coffee making facilities.I didn’t have the continental breakfast, but nice to see that the fridge and cutlery etc could be used by guests for other meals.The check in process is very flexible as it’s basically self service, but the owners are available if needed.Location wise, nice and quiet with some great views over the area.Should I be back in the area then Fernhill will be my first choice.

Lovely place
Accommodation was absolutely fine (unfortunately I had a room without a view... but that appreciate sometimes that can't be helped), but very comfortable (with amazing water pressure in the shower). Breakfast was a very generous self-help set up too. Would definitely recommend.

Quiet and comfortable
I could sleep very well in the quiet environment.The unmanned check-in system is good for arrival.I just would like suggest to mention there are also rooms in the main building, not only for the Stables outside in the message received in advance.

A lovely peaceful stay
Fernhill is a great B&B with everything you need on tap and a good few extras as well!I had forgotten to ask about hairdryers, irons, TVs, drinks etc but not only were they all there in the rooms- there was an small kitchen available with microwave andfridge also right next to our rooms. The breakfast room, overlooking the sheep in the fields, was also amazing with every kind of bread, pastry, cereal and fruit on offer. I was travelling with my elderly father, and the accessibility was great for him too. Would definitely recommend the warmth and helpfulness of the host, Rob, and the rooms were cleaned and checked daily it seems. All thumbs up from us!

Excellent for Rochdale
Location is astonishing, so close to many footpaths, wonderful view over Rochdale and surrounding area.Rooms, everything you would expect, clean, loads of facilities, ironing boards as well.Breakfast is a must, help yourself continental, with loads of choice.We had excellent weather so even had a barbeque one night.A recommend.

Stayed here many times both on my own and with my wife. This place is excellent, freindly, quiet and when the weather it nice and sunny the views are breathtaking. Also a relatively easy walk into Norden village, if walking a couple of miles is OK with you.Will probably be back from the US in a few weeks and will definitely be staying here again.

Positive: Spotlessly clean, quiet, comfortable bed, lots of parking, fantastic views, great communication,quirky.Kitchen and fridge a bonus.Negative: we booked a twin and a double room (well in advance).Twin room turned out to be a king size double plus rather short sofa bed.Owner was helpful and provided a longer Z bed but still not quite what we expected.10am check out a bit early but not a problem.More milk and a wider range of caf and decaf tea / coffee would have been nice.

Peace and quiet
Our second visit as we have family in the area. After staying at most of the hotels in Rochdale over the last 20 years Fernhill is by far the best for our needs.Peaceful, tranquil and always clean and will remain our "go to" spot whenever we visit family in the future.Thank you for another great stay !!

5 of us stayed in 3 rooms for a weekend while we were visiting family.All 3 rooms were lovely and very clean. Itwas nice to have kettles in the room. The fans were very much appreciated as it was good weather while we were there.I hope the next time we come to see family there is availability for us to stay again.

cracking as usual
we have stayed here before , i came on my own this time .no complaints at all.we have stayed different times of year always been the same .easy booking in my opinion a business is only as good as its service .i rang to book my stay the young man was on holiday he still answered his phone and said he would ring on his return.as promised i got the phone call earlier than arranged, booked it on arrival was very pleased with the room ( after a 6 hour drive ) it always feels homely when you arrive.looking forward to our next stay , thank you again fernhill

Set almost in the countryside the Fernhill Hotel is the perfect place to enjoy a relaxing few days.The room has everything needed and more.A large modern tv, pleasant views a small shared fridge and microwave for common use. The hotel was clean and quiet and well organised with good communication. Plenty of parking too.I would not hesitate in recommending the hotel to others

A New Friend
Thank you once again for a fantastic stay. It’s a great place to stay, whilst visiting our Lancashire family.This time our youngest Grandchild joined us, and obviously she made friends with Rocket.

Excellent find
Found Fernhill B&B some time back. This was our 3rd stay. Value for money in a fabulous location. Host Rob very helpful as I am Gluten intolerant and my partner lactose intolerant well catered for at breakfast. Already booked a return fir 2025. And possible will be back before that.

Another excellent stay
This was a return visit and we were just as impressed with the friendly and professional service provided. The room was very clean and provided all the amenities that you could want.The range of choice at breakfast was very extensive and always tasty.An absolute pleasure to stay here and everyone is most helpful and go out of there way to make you welcome.

Super Stay!!
Lovely accommodation in an exceptional setting. The most amazing breakfast choices too, with French Patisserie such as croissants and pains aux raisins!The room itself was clean and comfortable. Thanks especially to Rob our host for such a welcoming experience.

Highly recommend
We had a short 3 night stay at this beautiful place. We stayed in the stables with our little dog. The room and facilities were great and very clean. We had to use the fan as it was in the middle of a little heat wave during our stay which is not often in the north of England 🙃perhaps no need for air conditioning. Would benefit from a small fridge in the room to store cold drinks (for during warm weather) however the use of the kitchen is ideal and has everything there to use.Breakfast room has a wide variety of continental breakfast to choose from. Views are stunning, and Rob was a lovely host always happy to help and nothing ever too much. All in all beautiful place and lovely people we would stay again 😊

WOW! Absolutely amazing bed and breakfast, situated in a beautiful location with magnificent views of hills and countryside. I received a professional, friendly, and 1st class service when I stayed here. My room was clean and had everything needed for my week long stay. The room was large with an ensuite bathroom. Breakfast was continental and offered a large array of choices to get me started for the day. I would definitely stay here again. Wonderful place.

Lovely location
location was very nice indeed and not too hard to find.it was very convenient for us for going on a trip on the East Lancs Railway. Although it was good to be able to arrive at any time it would have been nice to have met the owners when we arrived.The room was good but bigger towels would have been appreciated.Breakfast was fine, plenty of choice for a continental breakfast but Cheerios cereal was stale unfortunately.We would definitely stay here again for value and convenience.

Flying visit
We had a great time loved the property. Veiws glorious. The only 'grumble 'the shower tray was very slippy Had to be very careful neary fell. All in all would definitely come again.

We were really impressed by the standard of the accommodation. The room was newly decorated and very comfortable. Great breakfast variety and a view of the lambs outside, lovely. good value too.

A real gem
This was such a great find. It's on a farm and we were surrounded by fields with sheep and their newborn lambs. The rooms are specious and clean and have everything you need for a comfortable night, plus there are lovely views across the valley. The choice of breakfast foods was excellent. I would definitely recommend it to anyone.

We travelled to Rochdale and stayed at Fernhill B and B. Wow what an experience set in the country side with lovely views across open moorland. The accommodation was first class a converted bar / stable very well appointed with all that was needed for a visit to Rochdale.The accommodation was smart well appointed clean and warm. The next time we visit we will without doubt use Fernhill again. I had a fantastic stay at Fernhill b&b. From start to finish the experience was perfect. The room had everything you needed, a comfortable bed with am excellent power shower, ample storage with an amazing view. The kitchen was well equipped and with everything you would expect for a continental breakfast. The host Rob was brilliant with excellent communication before, during and after my stay. Country heaven
We arrived late and in a panic, contacted the owner who was so helpful and patient.The accommodation was excellent, in a wonderful location, clean with very comfortable beds. We didn't have breakfast as friends lived nearby, but their family had stayed there and highly recommended it.Would definitely stay there again.

This was our 2nd stay and the location is fantastic with stunning views. The rooms are very clean, cosy and comfortable.My only complaint is that other residents left lots of cigarette stubbs and empty cigarette packets outside their stable rooms.Not sure what you could do about this but it’s dirty, inconsiderate and very disrespectful from them.

Lovely views of the valley - incredibly peaceful and relaxing stay. Got to see the sunrise in the morning before I went to work.Breakfast room was well stocked and beautify placed too. I would love to stay here again should I be working in the area.

The most beautiful stay!
One night was not enough! I wish we could have stayed longer, but we will definitely be coming back, for a long weekend next time! Everything about this beautiful b&b is just amazing. The whole experience from start to finish was everything you’d want for the perfect break/date night. The host Rob was wonderful and accommodating when I contacted with questions before the stay. The view from our room was absolutely breathtaking (I have attached picture). The whole experience overall was incredible, tranquil and peaceful. And the room itself was clean, comfy and a home from home. We will be back!!!!

Perfect in every way!
Myself and a friend stayed here as we were going to a 40th birthday party nearby. Everything was perfect, easy to find, no trouble getting the keys and the room was clean and tidy. The views are outstanding and we were greeted by baby lambs and horses which was lovely.The next morning we had breakfast and I was over the moon to find there was gluten free options available for me to enjoy after I mentioned it in my confirmation email.We would 100% recommend, it was absolutely perfect

Fabulous Rooms in a wonderful setting
We have stayed at Fernhill a number of times and always find it clean and comfortable. The bathrooms are well appointed with powerful showers.The views over the valley to Rochdale and further are superb.The DIY breakfast selection is generally very good, though we didn't stay for breakfast this time.

Lovely B & B in the countryside.
Only stayed for one night but the accomodation & location was great. The owner was able to mmet my request for a shower enclosure rather than over a bath which set the tone for my short stay. The bed was comfortable and the room even had a settee to relax on. Breakfast was good in a sunlit room overlooking the valley.

A beautiful place to stay.
We came from Australia and stayed for over 3 weeks! This is our second stay at Fernhill. Rob always looks after us and is easy to get in contact with. We stayed in Stables 2 and it is a fantastic room easily fitting myself and 2 adult children. The views are spectacular and the atmosphere is peaceful and tranquil. We went on many walks with the moors being virtually on the doorstep. Excellent views of the valleys and towns below. The room was always warm and comfortable and plenty of hot water for baths and showers (we stayed in winter). The kitchen is close at hand, again with excellent views and sunny aspect. Absolutely love this place and hope to be back again in a couple of years

Oasis
My wife (who is from Rochdale) and I had to visit Rochdale to see and care for an elderly relative. We feel very fortunate to have found the Fernhill B&B and found the staff to be most welcoming and the accommodation was warm, clean, tidy and furnished to a high standard.The views are most spectacular and the facilities provided most comprehensive. It was an utter joy to go to breakfast to see the lavish spread provided in the comfort of the breakfast room.It was a lovely stay and special thanks to Robert for making us so welcome.We will look forward to visiting again.

I’ve stayed here twice now, I will be back again. So much more character than a hotel. Located outside the town but close enough to be on the main roads in minutes. Nothing not to like. Rooms are well appointed, clean and spacious.

Countryside excellence
This place is amazing. Stay there for an experience quite exceptional in the region. I almost missed this experience to stay in a recently opened chain. That would have been a colossal mistake. This is simply outstanding.

I have stayed here before. It ticks all the boxes. Clean, comfortable and quiet as it is out of the centre. Highly recommended if you enjoy peace and quiet and no hassle. Plenty of free parking too which is a god send. I will definitely book again when back in this area.

Loved it! 10/10. Brilliant value for money/ spacious room/really laid back staff (just what we like ) Rob was impeccable with regards to responding to messages and so helpful! It’s a little oasis in the middle of Rochdale. Nice views and a relaxing atmosphere- we felt like we were right in the countryside We even had a fox mooching about right outside our window at dusk) Superb place. So much so, we booked again the weekend after for a longer stay.

The Fernhill B&B is quite simply outstanding and tickes every box for the business traveller or holiday maker. Excellent location and very clean and comfortable rooms. Quite outstanding!

Absolutely Perfect !
Beautiful accommodation set above Rochdale with stunning views.. our room was Stable 1, bright and airy with a massive and very comfortable bed, tea coffee and biscuits provided, lovely big bath, with shower in big bathroom, but the unique selling point is the exceptional breakfast room.. with stunning views and everything you could possibly want in the morning, cereal, toast ,danish and muffins, as well as fruit and yoghurts..facilities are top notch . Overall an amazing B and B we would highly recommend and hope to visit in the future

Lovely stay at Fernhill
Fernhill is a lovely B&B and we would recommend that you stay there for any trip into the North West.As you drive through the housing estate to get there, you wonder where you are going. Then you come out of the houses and set away up on the hill is Fernhill.The views are amazing and walkers would love Healey Dell Nature Reserve.The instructions were easy to follow for picking up the key.The rooms were a good size and large enough for lounging around in.The accommodation is very nice, clean and tidy and great value for money.The staff were very pleasant and helpful.Just one note which is not an issue for myself however, my wife has issues with hard mattresses, and this was a hard mattress.

Absolutes gem of a find ! Beautiful views and so peaceful ! Room was amazing so clean and spacious had everything you would need ! Shower was greatWould definitely stay again .Only two things I would possibly suggest is maybe having a seat outside each stable room just so u can sit and enjoy the views outside the roomAnd maybe 11 am for the checkout time (i know it was stated for 10 am) but seems very early especially for those who had a late night night before 😉Thankyou for a very pleasant stay

A pleasure to stay here.
This b&b is situated at the end of a long track with horses for neighbours and enjoying great views. We were pleasantly surprised by the size of our room and that there is a communal kitchenette (which was great as we had brought our own snacks and breakfast). The only downside was a slight damp smell in the bathroom which may be due to the shower curtain. I would still retain here and recommend this place.

Lovely B&B providing Excellent Value
My husband and I stayed here for a couple of nights for a family wedding nearby. My elderly Mum was with us too. Robert was very helpful during the booking process and responded quickly to my queries. I had requested a walk in shower for my mum, if possible next door to our room and he was able to ensure that we had this. The rooms were nicely decortaed and the linen was good quality. The shower was powerful and the temperature able to be adjusted easily. The beds were very comfortable too. The smart TV was a bonus we were not expecting. The self-service breakfast had a really good range of choices and the small kitchen, avaiable to all residents at any time was a bonus.Overall it was a very comfortable stay and excellent value for money. I would definitely stay there again.

Absolute perfection
I am almost nervous to leave a review in case I encounter difficulties when trying to book in the future ...!Everything about this B&B is outstanding. The room was not only scrupulously clean, it is kitted out to an extremely high standard with quality in every detail.The bed was spacious and comfortable, the desk was solid and well laid out with good quality pottery for tea/coffee making and hair dryer.Solid wood wardrobes with a welcome iron/ironing board and plenty of space. The power-shower was so good I did not want leave it.The bathroom again kitted out with quality appliances.Breakfast was an equally amazing experience.From a farmhouse-style dining/kitchen, the views across to the Pennines and Rochdale were wonderful.There was a fabulous 'all you can eat' display of continental breakfast items with a wide variety of fresh pastries, bread, crumpets, cereal, porridge, etc.Whole experience was perfect.Please don't all book in though - leave room for me!

We stayed two nights to attend a family wedding. We stayed in the stables and our room was extremely spacious but felt lovely and cosy. We loved the quiet and peaceful location with its beautiful views.There was so much choice for the continental breakfast. Far more than I expected.Thank you so much so a lovely stay.

A great location and very comfortable one night stay. Very accommodating of early arrival. Views from the Oak room were fantastic. Breakfast in the separate building enables you to help yourself with a good variety of options and great views.

Book early to stay at this very popular B and B just a short drive from Rochdale town centre but in a beautiful moorland setting. We always try to stay here when we’re visiting relatives in the area.

What a lovely peaceful and relaxing location. Fernhill B&B is located just outside Rochdale town high up on the hills. You get lovely views, peace, quiet and darkness.The room was a good size, comfortable bed and everything you need for a pleasantstay.The breakfast room, where a lovely substantial continental breakfast is served, is very well appointed and has wonderful views.I would happily stay here again and is excellent value for money.

Booked for an event in Oldham. Owner was easy to communicate with and accomodated our Lactose and Gluten intolerances.The room was spotless and bed comfortable. I cannot recommend the place enough. Excellent value for money.

How easy is staying at Fernhill B&B. No fuss, clear instructions and everything organised to perfection.Easy access from carpark to the main building via a ramped area or by steps. Rooms are comfortable and fairly spacious with everything you need. The addition of a communal small kitchen area with a microwave is a great idea. The breakfast room is very well appointed next door to the main building. Spacious comfortable and clean with a view to die for. The self serve continental style breakfast is a joy . Fresh, and so plentiful we were spoilt for choice. The whole experiencewas just what the doctor ordered. Peace and tranquility and value for money. What more could you ask.

We stayed over the May Bank Holiday as a family group - was a perfect location for exploring Rooley Moor and surrounding area.Dietary needs were well catered for at breakfast, including two of us who are vegan. Rooms were comfortable and spacious, breakfast room very pleasant with lovely views.Great communication with Rob throughout the booking and over the stay

Relaxing visit
The highlight of the visit was the breakfast room, where my wife and I met fellow guests and chatted about their plans for the day.We had breakfast with our daughter, her husband and the two grandsons on the first morning.They really enjoyed the continental breakfast, as there was so much choice.We stayed a further comfortable and relaxing night before returning home.Great facilities at Fernhill B&B and a wonderful location as our son and his family live only a short distance away.

We had a lovely stay for three nights.Clean rooms and everything you need for a short stay.Continental breakfast had a great selection and would cater for most tastes.Location is peaceful in the countryside but still near enough to get to the surrounding towns easily.

Fern Hill B & B a quiet and scenic place
We stayed at Fern Hill B & B for 3 nights in April 2023 as we visited Rochdale / Bacup for my great-niece's wedding. This is actually a scenically located working farm set in the Penne foothills very close to several walking paths. The accommodations were clean, neat, quiet, and very comfortable. We enjoyed watching the lambs playing in the field outside the breakfast room windows and occasionally the horses were being cared for in the paddock nearby. Although we could have reached the location via a local bus and short walk we elected to use Uber for local transportation to and from Rochdale.

Came here as working in the area for a few days. Great instructions about getting keys etc. Room was lovely, having a sofa in too is a great addition. Breakfast was self serve but fine for me, dining room had a fab view and there was plenty of choice for breakfast. I highly recommend and will definitely be staying again when working in the area.

Fernhill was recommended to us by friends. This is the second time we have stayed here recently, visiting family and wouldn’t choose to stay anywhere else. The continental breakfast was absolutely perfect with a wide variety of choice for everyone.We visiting friends in Norden and related our excellent comments to them.My husband was very tempted to put a sheep in the boot!Thank you for your hospitality. This is lovely accommodation in a beautiful setting, very comfortable and clean. Three small matters;I like fresh coffee in the morning; I appreciate you can't provide freshly brewed but coffee bags would be good enough.Could you add cushions to those lovely wooden chairs? It's a bit cold under the ...My shower curtain was light nylon and a heavier plastic o0ne would be better (I already mentioned this to Robert)I hope to visit you again, thank you.

We stayed in the stables this time no:-2.Clean big room super king-size bed with a large bathroom with a big bath with shower over.Tea, coffee biscuits 😋 etc.I needed more milk but that's not a problem as you can nip in either the small kitchen or breakfast kitchen an just get more.Breakfast was good, self service says continental but you can make beans on toast. Plenty of cereals,granola, porridge if you like.Fresh fruityoghurtdifferent breads, hotcross bun,crumpets lots to choose from. An teas, coffees etc.Its so nice an peaceful there you can really chill an I always sleep well. Will definitely use again if we need a place to stay in Rochdale.An very reasonable.

Ideal hideaway
Fernhill is the ideal place to stay if you’re looking for something just outside that city feel.It’s located on a hill with a view over hillside and rooftops in a country setting with wildlife all around it so feels like it’s miles away.Lovely buildings with above average decor and fittings.Beds are comfortable, bathrooms are lovely, rooms are spacious and provide everything you need with coffee making facilities.Always clean and tidy, provides everything you need as well as a small kitchen with microwave or breakfast room if you want to buy breakfast.It’s always quiet and peaceful and will always be my No1 place to stay when working in Rochdale.I can’t think of any way to improve it which is why I am giving it 5 stars.

Brilliant Stay !
We stayed at Fernhill B & B as part of a wedding group.What a lovely little place in a lovely setting.So clean,tidy and comfortable.The breakfast room was a brilliant addition.It allowed us to meet up with the rest of the wedding party in a lovely relaxed atmosphere.The horses, sheep and watching the birds was an extra bonus!Wouldn't hesitate to book again.

Good location to great the tram into Manchester. Area seemed lovely with walks in the countryside ( we didnt have time to explore). Parking good, room very good and spacious. Bathroom was great. Shampoo & shower gel was a nice touch. Tea and coffee facilities were good. And the communal kitchen and fridge was very appreciated as I wanted to eat in. Did not have breakfast but considering the other facilities and decor Im sure it would be lovely. I thought it was definitely worth the price. Thank you

Nice Little B+B
Great Little find, my room was in a converted stable block which faced amazing views and a stunning sun rise. The bedroom was clean and comfortable and the heaters gave out good heat very quickly. The shower was amazing and again the bathroom was very clean. Breakfast is taken in a lovely conservatory with stunning views across the hills.All in all a great little B+B but just be aware that this is a working farm so the smells might not be too everyone's taste!

A lovely B&B in the countryside. Great value for money. Quiet, beautiful views, tranquil yet full of life....the walks over the tops...farmlands...horses...sheep etcLarge rooms, big beds, very comfortable. Tea/ coffee etc in the room...a kitchen to use with a fridge and microwave as well as a breakfast room which you can use to enjoy your own lunch/ dinner take out.Very clean, comfortable and the staff can't do enough for you. The owner is on call anytime and does the rounds everyday to see if you need anything.Unlike other b&b's, hotels,etc this place feels like home. I would certainly recommend Fernhill.

Idyllic
Lovely big, clean, spacious room with a brilliant view. Horses clip clopping around the adjacent stable which I found delightful. Ample facilities inc tea, coffee and a little communal kitchen with microwave and fridge. It was self check in which I appreciated as I wanted to be left alone on this trip for personal reasons. A very pretty and secluded place located conveniently close to the town centre. Good size bathroom, power shower, controllable central heating. No complaints. Great!

Just right
Second time I have been here to visit localfamily members and I find Fernhill excellent value. The rooms are a good size with fine views and facilities are good, great for walkers with good access on to the moors and paths.

Spacious, spotless and wonderful views
We stayed in Hedgerow Suite which was very spacious for a couple.The room was spotless and the views were wonderful.It was a very enjoyable stay.

Fantastic
The electricity had actually gone when me and my wife stayed, but we still had a brilliant stay. Rob, the host, provided candles and a torch, and the room was private, secure and had a fantastic view of the surrounding area and countryside. We will have to stay again.

Beautiful scenery and hospitality
Was a lovely bnb beautiful scenery Was up visiting attending my farthers funeral strange thing we ordered from a menu called j r which were my dad's initials and funnily enough were in the Redfern roo. Which was also my dad middle name spooky but even tho weather created a blackout and there was no electricity we loved it and will definitely come back in the summer

The room was lovely, comfortable,very clean and the views were so nice in the morning.My husband was a little disappointed there was no cooked breakfast and believes it should say this as it is self service. I would stay here again.

Overall Good
Location is very rural and quiet, lovely to see the horses in the rising!Breakfast was basic but good. Not sure it was worth £6 which we were charged as we only had some crumpets and a bowl of cereal. We were delighted by the vegan option that they had Available (butter and oat milk!)The rooms were big and spacious, we would have preferred the heating to be on in our room when we arrived. It was absolutely freezing and took a couple of hours for it to heat up whilst we were there! I know this is to save money on your end but considering the value of the room, this was a disappointment and it was uncomfortable. Overall it was good.

I have lost a charger there and they are going to send it, so the contact is also perfect. The air conditioning as well and the cleaning and fabulous breakfast service.

The staff was very friendly and accommodated our request. Very easy check in & lovely room! Beautiful views & my daughter was so happy to see the horses walking past the room! The room could of done with a little fan inside, we got really hot quick.

Very peaceful and relaxing stay.
Always tend to stay at Fernhill when in Rochdale. The property is in a superb location extremely peaceful and quiet which is what I like. It is ultra clean with great en-suites. lots of private parking and lovely staff. Whats not to like.

Excellent B&B on edge of Rochdale
Fernhill B&B was easy to find, right on the edge of great walking countryside.The room was spotless and homely.My wife and I had a room in the Stable and my 88yr old mother had a room on the main building.Both rooms had great views over Rochdale and a dell.The beds were really comfortable.The shower hot and powerful.Breakfast was continental and plentiful, with a huge variety of food and drink.Well worth the stay.

Always perfect
I have been staying at Fernhill B&B for the last few years and can honestly say it is never anything but perfect.I stay there regularly for work purposes and to be able to go ‘home’ at the end of a hard day into a room that is clean, well furnished and perfectly located just out of the city and overlooking hills is so relaxing.The showers are amazing and all furnishings are above the usual standard for the price.I’ve had only 1 occasion where I had to contact the owner with a faulty toilet and even though it was later in the evening he was there within 10 minutes, with a smile on his face and sorted it out in no time at all.They are always helpful and accommodating.Would highly recommend.

Spacious and clean room & en-suite, very comfortable bed, tranquil countryside location with beautiful scenery, I had one of the Stables rooms so appreciated having private entrance, also access to kitchen facilities was useful. I telephoned the host a couple of times for general enquiries and he was always accommodating. All in all, I had a peaceful and comfortable stay at Fernhill B&B, I would definitely recommend it, and will be back to stay again!

Location amazing. Accommodation 4 star but 5 star for Bed and breakfast. We stayed in the stables. Food was nice. Owner was helpful when the power in the breakfast room tripped out. There was someone there to switch on the power in a minute or two. The power might have tripped out overnight in the room but didn't bother me as it happened at like 3 am or something then came back up by 0430 am.Nice place. Nice service. Quality breakfast. Can tell lot of hardwork been put in to set It up and maintain good stay with the guy over the phone available.

Lovely stay
Stayed for one night with husband and teenage daughter. The rooms were spotless and very comfortable and large, with beautiful views. We enjoyed our stay very much, and felt covid safe,and would recommend.The only mystery was that the TVs in both seperate rooms turned on randomly at 5am and waking us all up early on a Sunday morning! It didn't spoil our stay but wouldn't want it to happen again!

Thoroughly Recommended Retreat
Very clean and comfortable rooms with everything provided.It was good to have such a single room with wonderful views and such peace and quiet.A welcome choice of Breakfasts with an opportunity to use the kitchen if necessary. A bath mat would have been very useful as the bath/shower was rather slippery.Also extra grab rails for those with less flexible limbs!

I travel a lot around the North and my usual places were all full so I booked here.What a result! Beautiful location, peaceful, plenty of parking and terrific rooms.The room was very clean and tidy. As was the bathroom....with a good shower!.The room was very homely, unlike the usual sterile hotel chains.The kitchen was an added bonus. I even ordered a nice Chinese for my tea and could use a fork and plate to eat it off haha.Highly recommended. 10 out of 10. Can't wait to go back ????

We came up for a birthday.I was born and brunged up in rochdale ????????.I have family in lanehead and never new this place was there.Cracking location, room was fine a big bed ????????Oh yes what a pleasure to sleep and my feet not hanging over the end of the bed , my wife enjoyed the big bed also.Shame about food not being available due to restrictions.But will look forward to that next time we stay.All round very happy.I met Charlotte after leaving my man bag there!.Delightful young lady and very helpful with a smile.I do stay away with work and you would be surprised the attitude of some.Fern hill will I stop again certainly will.Probably have a longer stay next time and do some walking.Would be a lovely place to go put a chair out read a book and have drinks and relax.Stay safe.Andrew.

The accommodation was spotlessly clean and well presented and was lovely and warm. You can walk up straight onto the moors and it is a good base for Rochdale and the surrounding area. Nice views and the children enjoyed looking at the horses. Handy to have access to fridge and microwave. Would definitely recommend and thanks for a good stay.

Working away from home at the moment is difficult but Fernhill is in a perfect location for a base to get away from the hustle.Rooms are nice and have been recently decorated with the bathroom updated which looks lovely and very up to date.Always clean with a daily service.Furnishings are of good quality.The kitchen area with microwave makes staying there affordable and overnight prices are very good.Would recommend as a work or pleasure stay.

Set in a lovely countryside location with far reaching views. Room was clean and comfortable. The bed in our double room was 2 beds tied together which created an uncomfortable ridge down the centre. This is the only negative comment we have about our stay.

Welove Fernhill!We have stayed a number of times nowIt's relaxed, clean and comfortable with quality furnishings throughout.They are dog friendly and provide a blanket for our 4 legged friend.The bathrooms are clean and spacious and there's always plenty of hot water.A DIY Breakfast is provided in the dining room overlooking the valley below, with plenty of choice; cereals, toast, crumpets, yoghurt, beans, sliced cheese & meat, breakfast bars etc.Would recommend...

The room was cosy and warm with lots of room for me and my ball gown for the Town Hall Xmas party.The breakfast had a good quality of choice and with lovely views.I will be re-booking later in the year with my dog.I would recommend this B&B to all my friends without issues, lots of space to park you car and only 5-10 mins away from the town centre and the hills for walking

A gem of a place
Fear hill band b was a great place to stay . Me and two mates travelled up to watch our footy team ( ITFC ) play Rochdale . The rooms were spacious and well equipped with everything you need . Great views . Can't recommend this place enough ????????????????????

Nice Place
We stayed for one night with breakfast at a very reasonable price. Everything was lovely... the only drawback being the washbasin waste leaked straight outso might need a bit of attention.. possibly a hand/grabrailon the wall for showering within the bath would be a help too.

If you are looking for somewhere to stay in the area this is definitely a good option.I’ve stayed in a few different B&B’s while working in the area and now don’t even consider anywhere else.The ease of booking in, quality of finish and attention to detail are what brings me back to this place.Add to that the cleanliness, the self service, no fuss breakfast room, kitchen facilities and views from this hillside location and I couldn’t ask for more.Recommended every time.Oh, and the friendly helpful staff available by telephone.

We only stayed 1 night but we found the room to be comfortable, welcoming and very clean. Bed was lovely and comfy and shower was perfect. Plenty of hot water and pressure (I love my shower in the morning to wake me up.trickling showers just don't cut it!)Breakfast was plentiful and lots of choice with a self service continental. To add to that, a beautiful view from the breakfast room and all the bedrooms. What's not to love.There was no shortage of places to go for evening meals within a 5 mile radius and lots of takeaways who deliver to the b&b.I would recommend this b&b to anyone.

Comfortable place
Excellent room and great views. I found the breakfast a little disappointing and the lack of personal contact with the owner a bit odd. Despite that the place served our purpose well on our way home from holiday in Scotland.

Best place ever
Could not have been happier with my stay.. Here on business from the US, though I am a local boy from Manchester. Clean room, very comfortable. Great Wi-Fi connectivity. Incredibly quiet and relaxing. Lovely to have horses strolling by and the views are terrific. Breakfast room was great, everything you need and looking out over fields and fields can’t be beaten. Some terrific places to go in the evenings just out of town, nice pubs, great food. Most importantly the people that run and work at the place could not have been nicer. I left some items in my room accidentally and went by at 730am on a Sunday to see if I could get them. It was no bother for the. So thank you Robbie, Dave and the unknown lady walking the horse. I’ll always stay here when I’m back for work or visiting friends and family. Could not be any better. Wish I could give more than 5 stars.

A very different b & b
The room was very comfortable and the views were spectacular.The breakfast arrangements were somewhat different, but it did seem to get people talking to one another.We would recommend you to people, but don't know whether we would be so keen attempting your drive in the winter!

This is a cosy, very clean, relaxing B & B in a beautiful setting. I booked following a friend's recommendation and it exceeded my expectations. I'd definitely stay here again in the future and it was a treat waking up to birdsong and seeing the horses in the stables nearby. There's plenty of space to park and great walks nearby if you like the outdoors.

3 Week stay
I came from Australia and stayed over three weeks at Fernhill to be able to see family and friends in the area. This place is so special. A working farm and friendly horse owners make it a lovely community which made us feel a part of it while we were there. Lovely rooms amazing views lots of places to walk. Just an awesome all round experience. Absolutely loved it and would definitely want to stay here again. 5/5.

Perfect stay
Fernhill B&B was the perfect place for my overnight stay. Instructions are very clear on booking. You get your own key from the box outside at a time to suit you. As I arrived in the evening I wasn’t worried about someone being there to check me in. The room was spotless, great facilities, simple but perfect for my needs. Self serve breakfast was ideal. Would definitely stay again when next in Rochdale for business meeting. Excellent value.

Excellent value
An unusual B & B in that the owners do not live on site (but close) but the arrangements work well. There is a small kitchen for the use of residents and a breakfast room where everything is available for a continental breakfast. The price for single occupation was very reasonable,I stayed at Fernhill while walking the Pennine Bridleway. It is in a slightly remote position and I explored on foot but was unable to find anywhere acceptable to eat, ending up by buying food from a Co-op food store about a mile away and preparing it in the kitchen. In fairness the proprietors provide brochures for take away meals which could be delivered.One minor issue was that a cupboard in the breakfast room contained a quantity of bread which was very mouldy and had clearly been there for a long time and suggests that the cleaning regime needs tweaking. Otherwise everything was immaculate.

Family stay at Fernhill B & B
Lovely stay at Fernhill.We were instantly impressed by the gorgeous views and wildlife surrounding the B &B, it really is an area that can only be described as tranquil.The check in system was easy and effective.All three rooms were to a good level; well presented and cleanly. The addition of communal kitchen facilities was greatly appreciated.Overall, Fernhill B&B was great value for money and we would definitely visit again.

Fernhill BandB is the nicest we have ever stayed in, In this stunning location surrounded by fields and farmland it is situated on a farm, not the typical bnb in a house it is one story of a wide range of rooms, which are spotless, a kitchen with everything needed for self caterers or aand breakfast room. We will defiantly be back.Highly recommend

Family Wedding
We stayed at Fernhill as we were attending a family wedding in Whitworth (just a few miles away). The accommodation was lovely and clean and lived up to my high standards. My husband and I paid a little extra for a room in the Stables block and this was worth the extra £10 as it was more spacious than the other block which the rest of our party stayed in. That said they were ok size wise for just one night but equally of a good standard. Would consider staying here again should we be in the area.

Would highly recommend Fernhill. Rooms were clean & comfortable with exceptional views of the countryside. Help yourself continental breakfast was lovely and varied. Small kitchen to use if required. Really lovely welcoming stay.

we really enjoyed our stay at the b&bthe rooms were spacious very clean and a very comfy bed had a great nights sleep it was so quiet and peaceful with beautiful scenery would definitely stay again

Unique Stay
The perfect place for a hassle-free, quality stay. This is our second visit and very useful for visiting family close by. The room itself is of high quality and there is a helpful guide for everything you need. We prefer the self-check in room as it lets us get straight on with our stay, with varying arrival times after a long drive. Can not recommend this place enough!

I would definitely revisit if I’m working in the area again and would recommend to colleagues-it’s in a peaceful location and the room/breakfast etc were all thoughtfully prepared for a very comfortable and clean stay.

Fernhill B & B was as described. Situated on a farm with views over the town of Rochdale. A pleasant location with a working stables attached. Our rooms were clean and comfortable.

This accommodation is outstanding, I have stayed here before and have just spent the last 2 nights in one of the stables and the accommodation, views and brilliant shower make this the best place around for vey very good reasonable prices. The best prices around will always stay here in future and staff are always very polite and welcoming many thanks

I arrived very late a key was left out for me, the guest house put me in main building which was lovely being a single female. The room was an excellent size, very clean.Breakfast is do it yourzelf which was. Fine for me. Lovely views to wake up to. I wpuld stay again.

Fantastic, quiet 2 week stay!
Very quiet location. Lovely room and large well equipped bathroom. Rob who dealt with the reservation was friendly, accommodating and always made himself available. I had my small dog staying with me who also loved the location! It is quite remote and as a single woman travelling alone I was a little anxious about safety however, I had nothing to worry about. Room would benefit from a small fridge. Highly recommended for both business and leisure travellers. Would definitely stay again.

Hidden Gem
Extremely comfortable, clean & decorated to a high standard. Beautiful surroundings with some lovely walking trails. I would definitely recommend a visit whether you just want to relax or explore the surrounding area.

A day out in Rochdale
This was the second time in a few weeeks we'd stayed at Fernhill and we'll definitely go back.So there's no cooked breakfast but, so what? For us it makes a nice change. We enjoy the comfy rooms, the great views and the peace....what's NOT to like?The only downside was Rochdale FC lost again, but what else is new?Still, we'll definitely go again, so should you.

Very Pleasant Stay
A very simple arrival and pleasant stay in a self catering B&B. Lovely warm room with ample hot water.Breakfast is a simple range of continental. Sadly no Full English on offer.Could do with a larger towel for the taller man..

Review of our stay.
Its a lovely place in a fantastic setting. The rooms are specious and the bathrooms are large. The breakfast room has fantastic views of the surroundings and the breakfast sets you up for the day. We have stayed several times and will again.

Had three night stop over, room spacious well thought out. Bed large , very comfortable ,Wife loved squidgy pillows. If in area would definitely return.We had two dogs with us , great walking area. Robert great host.

Excellent accommodation with great views
Stayed for one night with my elderly mother. Lovely room - stable 1. Comfortable bed and free wifi. Bathroom very cold and initially tgought thwre was no heating in there but was a heated towel rail which unfortunately was off and no way if switching it on. Breakfast was help yourself and a great choice including crumpets, toast,cereals,beans etcOverall a lovely visit and would stay again

Every bit as good as it looks on the photos
Stayed here for 1 night and we were very impressed.Lovely and clean.The luxury double was a good size as was the en-suite bathroom.We did not have breakfast so are unable to comment.The only thing I would have liked would be bath sheets rather than bath towels - but this is not really a complaint as suchSee you soon - we will be back regularly now

Cosy
Coming over from Ireland. I was pleasantly pleased with the accommodation as we got in tired from travelling. The rooms were very cosy and comfortable. The views were wonderful and there were even sheep outside of the window! Robert was a pleasure to deal with as well. Hope to return here someday
